If we do our job correctly, you will find very little that is original in Journal Better.

Put another way, after giving credit to everyone that has helped us, you should find very little left to give us credit for. Our job is to implement the ideas and practices that have become commonplace in this current world of software excellence. It would only be appropriate to acknowledge some of the many parties that have assisted us along the way.

Journal Better borrows from mind map ideas found in dozens of terrific mind map applications created all over the world, and to them goes the credit for its development.

Journal Better also borrows from other great programs in everything from handling documents to keystrokes.

Mostly Journal Better owes a huge debt of gratitude to the Eclipse Foundation, the platform that JB is built on, and IBM who has supported the Eclipse Foundation from its inception.

Journal Better is being built on decades of enterprise level design principles that the author was able to learn from hundreds of great engineers and tireless volunteers in the Java community. All appropriate credit goes to the many such leaders who were generous and kind with their time - sharing to the whole community.

For inspiration and patterns, we look to 37 Signals, Seth Godin, and too many others to cite here.

Last but not least, thanks to James Gosling, creator of Java, Sun, and now Oracle, that makes the Java platform the great tool that it is for developing software.
