Just because we develop a program for your use doesn't mean we don't recommend other programs as better to use instead of ours - for lots of situations.
We're excited about the possibilities of importing from, and exporting to great applications such as FreeMind, XMind, EverNote, and even others such as Microsoft Word - as the market demands.
We're especially positive on these mind mapping tools and highly recommend them to anyone - the following are free, or have great free versions:

We highly recommend Evernote, as do thousands of other EverNote enthusiasts throughout the world. Great stuff. Try it!
There are also kazillion other note taking programs out there - and we just haven't had the time to try them all. One of us is a die-hard user of Microsoft's note taking software. It costs $100, so it better be good, but the other of us wouldn't spring for the expense so can't vouch for it either way.
The author of this page hasn't bought an MS Office license in years so couldn't comment on it either way. But this same author has also had tremendous success with both Google Apps and OpenOffice, despite notable derision from MS Office users in close personal relationships. MS Office users can be die hard enthusiasts.
